See you there!

September 7, 2010

It's that time of year again!

Welcome back! :)

Now that the school year has officially begun, we will start having meetings within the next few weeks. These will be announced in class and on our facebook page.

This will be many of the FDG organizers last year at McGill, and we will be recruiting fresh talent to carry on the legacy! If you are interested in becoming more involved with the FDG this year, please let us know by e-mailing fridgedoorgallry@gmail.com or let one of us know when we make class announcements and we can give you more information. It is a great way to meet new people, express your creativity and get hands on experience with putting together an exhibition.

We can't wait to get things moving and look forward to meeting our newest members!

Cruxism: Vernissage March 25th 2010

We invite you join us on March 25th for the launch of Cruxism!

We have called upon the wide variety of McGill student artists and have gathered an amazing array of art work. Our goal here is to do away with the last remnants of Greenbergian specificity and truly embrace the Medias of our time. Today more than ever before traditional forms of art no longer consume the field. This is not to say that painting is dead, but rather that we take pride in our fluency in several media.

As we embark on a new decade, how will we make our mark on the present for the future? How will we be remembered? Working in/outside/around the White Cube it is clear that Art is undergoing major renovations.

In this space we have a chance to experiment, to break open neat compartments, stretch boundaries and take on new meanings, to remix, to attract new audiences, to ultimately provide a place for exploration.

This year the Fridge Door Gallery offers a spectrum of emerging voices that will come together on March 25th- an event that will consequently define the movement itself.

Canvas Journal will be available as well, hot off the press!!!

Beverages and Goodies will be provided!

Inside the Fridge

It's official!

The executive team of the Fridge Door Gallery will be presenting a selection of our art work for the first time ever this coming Thursday, January 14th at Nota Bene Papeterie (3416 avenue Du Parc).

The vernissage will be open from 5-9 pm that night, however the art work will be staying up for a while, in case you can't make it to the opening night.

Although the Fridge Door Gallery showcases student art twice a year, the executive members do not submit their work. This is our chance to show you our art, as we are continuously privileged in viewing yours. We hope that you enjoy the show!
