2013-14

Co-President
Kathryn Yuen

U3, Art History and English

Kathryn is currently pursuing a double major in Art History and English, and a minor in Communications Studies. At McGill she is also actively involved with the AHCSSA as the new Editor-in-Chief of Canvas Journal. Around campus, Kathryn can be found talking to “Sara the Triceratops” at McGill’s Redpath Museum, as she is currently developing an interactive exhibit for the dinosaur, as part of her internship as an Assistant Curator. Although the Redpath Museum holds a special place in her heart, Kathryn one day aspires to become a curator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York – her favourite art gallery. But until then, Kathryn spends her spare time experimenting in the kitchen in pursuit of the perfect cupcake.

Co-President
Arash Nayerahmadi

U2, Finance

Arash is currently a U2 student majoring in Finance. When he is not in class, he spends his time painting watercolour portraits, and drawing nature. Besides art, Arash is a huge footbal (soccer) fan, relentlessly cheering his favourite team – Arsenal FC. He is also currently on a quest to try a burger in every restaurant possible in Montreal. His dream museum to curate is the Nationally Gallery of Art in Washington DC.

Hannah Feniak

U3, Art History

Hannah's studies focus largely on Medieval and Early Modern Art, as well as contemporary communication theory. She is actively involved in research and reading groups such as the Medieval Society and The Renaissance Research Group. While at home, she is a practicing visual artist, horticultural enthusiast and self proclaimed foodie. Throughout the school year, her gallery experience is lived vicariously through The Jealous Curator. The compilation of exhibitions in this blog is her favourite 'gallery'—she visits it at all hours of the day without leaving her bedroom!

VP Communications
Audrey Kwan

U3, Art History

Audrey is an Art History major with minors in both Communications and Hispanic Languages at McGill. She will be interning at the Burke Museum in Seattle, Washington this summer term (2013). In addition, she has been a member of Mosaica McGill for three years and is also currently VP Internal for the Essay Centre. Her favourite museum is the Metropolitan Museum in New York City, but she also enjoys visiting the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal.

VP External and AHCSSA representative
Bailey Singer

She has previously interned at the Daniel Faria Gallery, her favourite art gallery in Toronto. Her favourite kind of art shows are fashion exhibits as they combine her love for fashion and her interest in curating spaces.

VP Finance
Victoria Magdalen Woo (Vicky)

Vicky is from Hong Kong, but has also spent a large part of her life in England before coming to McGill. As well as being part of Fridge Door Gallery, she is VP External of AHCSSA. Her favourite galleries are PACE Gallery and William Secord Gallery (a dog-friendly space for fine dog and animal paintings) in New York City.

VP Internal
Madison Bentley

U3, Art History (Honours)

Madison is involved in the Montreal art community through her internship at Gallery Gora, visual arts volunteering through McGill's i*create club and active attendance of various vernissages throughout the city. Her favourite galleries are the St-Dizier, AKA, and le Bourget, all three of which are ideally situated in the Old Port for a summer afternoon spent eating ice-cream cones and exploring the art scene. In her free time, Madison can be found immersed in Jane Austen novels, mixing unconventional gin-based cocktails or painting along the banks of the St-Laurent.
